Perera Wins at Toronto

In very difficult conditions Franck Perera scored his second consecutive win of 2007.

Franck qualified the Condor Motorsports number 11 car in second place. I was a particularly good session for the team since Junior Strous, who drives the Condor Motorsports entry number 16 qualified in Third place.

Approaching the start of the race it was imminent that before the race was over, rain was going to be a factor.

The field left at the green flag with Perera getting by the Pole sitter Raphael Matos.

Although he passed Matos, Bomarito and Strous got the better of them by taking the outside line. At the exit of turn two the order was Bomarito, Strous and Perera.

The rain finally arrived, at that time Bomarito lost control of his car and crashed. The pace car was dispatched to clear another accident that involved several cars.
A lap later the race got red flagged and the pace car led the pack into the pits and a wet race was declared by Race Control.

The order at the re-start was Strous, Perera, Matos. Strous took the lead with Perera Second making it a Condor Motorsports one-two. On the second lap after the re-start Perera took the lead. On lap ten the pace car was sent out to guide the field due to another accident. It was during this yellow that Junior Strous was hit from behind and put out of the race for the second time in two races.

Perera crossed the finish line in first place, winning the race and sporting a brilliant display of car control under such adverse circumstances.

With the Victory at Toronto Franck Perera heads to the next event at Edmonton in Second place in the Championship Points.
