| Elkhart Lake, WI, Franck Perera Qualifies Second at Road America It was a nail biting session that saw the top of the timing board change for names and fastest laps for most of the session. With about five minutes to go Franck was about three tenths of a second faster than the nearest competitor. With everyone heading for the pits at the end of the session John Edwards was the last car to take the checkered flag. He managed on that last lap to displace Perera out of the top of the charts. It was a good run for the Condor Motorsports #11 but we felt short at the very end. Now the team is concentrating on tomorrow’s runs and feel confident that we have the speed to challenge for Saturday Pole. Condor Motorsports drivers Junior Strous and Brian Thienes fared well on their runs. Junior qualified in Fifteen place, still suffering the effect of a broken wrist that will required a third operation at his return to Holland promptly after the Road America event. Brian Thienes took the Twentieth spot and looks forward to have another go at improving in Saturday scheduled sessions. |
